Compliance Auditing

Complaince Auditing, - Appropriate to the size of your workplace and the nature of the work.

As an employer you are required by law to comply with the Health & Safety legislation,  Approved Codes of Practice, your company Safety Statement, your Risk Assessments and your Safety Management System. An accurate workplace Health & Safety report will highlight the positive aspects of your Health & Safety Management as well as the areas of non-compliance. It is imperitive the non conformances are addressed and signed off to reduce the risk of accidents and incidents in your work place.

 

Auditing is carried out in the following manner.

  1. The audit is arranged with senior management.
  2. Existing Safety Statement, policies, incidents, etc are communicated to auditor
  3. Take a guided walk through the work place,
  4. Take an unaccompanied walk through the work place,
  5. Review H&S documentation
  6. Meet with the designated client contact,
  7. Discuss the issues in the work place.
  8. Prepare a report and issue to the Client.
  9. If required a program can be provided to address non conformances.

 

Note: regular auditing of the work place may not follow all steps 1-8 as the auditor will have much of the information required from the previous audit. However points 4 - 9 are always applicable.

Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005

Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regs 2007

Industry Specific Regulations such as,

Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regs 2006

Other industry specific Regulations and codes of Practice.
